Hi I'm Jessica

I live in Utah and work as an attorney. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in Arizona by great parents. I have several brothers and sisters and four nieces and nephews. I love spending time with my family. I enjoy the outdoors, reading, and laughing with family and friends. I work as a lawyer and like being able to help people with difficult problems.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents taught me about Jesus Christ and the doctrines of the Mormon Church when I was young, and they challenged me to find out for myself whether these teachings were true by praying and asking God. I have prayed about these teachings and have felt the sweet, calm, peaceful confirmation from God's spirit that they are true. Now as an adult, I continue to pray and study the scriptures, including the Bible and the Book of Mormon, and I continue to feel this confirming spirit strengthen both my understanding of the teachings of Jesus Christ as taught in the Mormon Church, and my conviction that they are true.

How I live my faith

I attend a small branch for young single adults and serve in the branch organization for women. The women in our branch give each other great strength and support, and we enjoy a feeling of great unity and love. Our branch is very active in our community and has enjoyed serving our neighbors in many ways.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

The missionaries' purpose is to invite people to "come unto Christ." This means more than just learning about Jesus Christ, or even believing in Him. To "come unto Christ" means to take the steps necessary to fully enjoy the blessings that Jesus Christ has made possible for all people. The missionaries will share the teachings of Jesus Christ with you, including the instructions He has given, through both ancient and modern prophets, that will allow you and your family to enjoy true, lasting happiness in this life and forever. They will then invite you to live these teachings, such as praying to God, studying the scriptures, and attending Church meetings. As you take these steps, you will feel the quiet, comforting spirit of God confirm the truth of the missionaries' message, and you will begin to feel a desire to be closer to God and live your life in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ. The missionaries will simply serve as your guide in taking these first steps of coming unto Christ. Show more Show less

What is the Relief Society?

The Relief Society is the Church's formal organization for women. It was organized to strengthen families, help women increase their faith in Jesus Christ, and find and bring relief to those in need. Each local congregation of the Church has an organized Relief Society, and the sisters in each Relief Society share a bond of sisterhood and love that brings strength and love to the women, their families, and their community. I have found tremendous spiritual and emotional strength by participating in Relief Society and have enjoyed some of the most uplifting, genuine friendships of my life with the sisters there.
