Hi I'm Lauren

I grew up in California. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently studying to become a medical assistant and have plans for becoming a registered nurse while my husband Allen gets his master's degree. I love cooking, want to learn how to sew, love doing just about any type of craft. My husband Allen and I have been married for 8 months.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to follow my Savior. This church is centered around Christ and we strive to live as He would have us live. The teachings of this Gospel inspire me to be a better person and gives me comfort that Jesus Christ loves and knows me personally

How I live my faith

I attend church regularly as well as the temple. I have realized the importance of doing family history work and have been very active in compiling a book of remembrance. I look forward to being able to show my family and future family about our ancestors. I know that I am most happy when serving others. I try to serve with an attitude of love.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Lauren
The scriptures are like a manual for this life- they teach us the way we need to be and life has more direction and purpose. We can also be comforted through the word of God, that despite trials and hardships, He knows and understands even when no one else can. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Lauren
In order to enter the temple, a person must have a valid recommend signed by their bishop and a member of the stake presidency. The recommend shows that the person has been interviewed by the bishop and a member of the stake presidency and has been found worthy to enter. A recommend interview is always the same for every person in regards to the questions that determine worthiness. The temple is a very sacred place where people can receive revelation. It is a place of learning, holiness, love, prayer, and revelation. There is nothing secret that goes on in the temple; however, they are sacred. We do not talk about what happens in the temple out of reverence for those sacred subjects. In the temple, we make covenants (promises) to our Heavenly Father that we will obey His law.
