Hi I'm Kathy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of two crazy, but fun, boys. I stay at home with them to help provide them with the very best environment possible. I am a college graduate and have worked outside the home a lot, but have been given the opportunity to stay at home to be the best mom I can be. I am very grateful! I love to play sports and get outdoors for camping, etc. It's a good thing I have boys!! They need to be outside a lot because they have way too much energy!

Why I am a Mormon

I love the feelings involved with being at church and involved with the gospel. I gain a renewed testimony each Sunday and every time the Spirit whispers to me. I grew up a member of the church, but did not have a complete testimony until I was off on my own in college. I depended upon my parents telling me so much, but when I started college I started avoiding church. I could definitely tell the difference in the level of happiness in my life. Looking back, my life seemed very empty when I was not attending church. Being active and involved with the church, reading the scriptures, praying, etc. brings happiness to me and I feel I am getting to know myself through my spiritual eyes. I am getting to know who I was when I lived with Heavenly Father before I was brought to this earth. I love being LDS and the strength and knowledge it brings me!

How I live my faith

We live in Las Vegas where we have many neighbors and friends that work or live in a worldly "party" atmosphere. Because of that, we, including our children, need to decide what we believe and plan ahead for decisions that are coming our way. I love meeting and being involved with others and trying to help them as they are helping me. I know the best way to show my beliefs is to share them and to serve others as Christ did.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Kathy
I know that our bodies are a gift from our Father in Heaven. We treat our gifts from people with love and respect. So, why not a gift from our Heavenly Father? We know that our physical health also has an effect on our spiritual health. We are asked to keep our bodies physically fit and clean from addictions and dirt. I believe by keeping our bodies healthy, we are showing respect for our Heavenly Father and His gift to us. We read in the scriptures that our bodies are called temples. We keep our temples clean and beautiful inside and out. We know that nothing that is unworthy can enter temples and we should follow that same counsel with our bodies. Our bodies are sacred, just as temples are and we should not defile them with unholy and wordly ideas. Show more Show less
