Hi I'm Gary

I'm a Patent Attorney. I have a wife, five sons, and one daughter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a dad. My wife and I have five sons and one daughter. I'm a Patent Attorney. I love reading, painting, fishing, shooting, camping, boating, gardening, rocks, geocaching, vacations, and relaxing. I have beehives and a maple tree in my yard, from which I have made maple syrup. I like Calvin and Hobbes, superheroes, eating cheese, making root beer, and dutch oven food.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS church. I grew up in a community that had many members of the church. I also had (still have) many friends who weren't members or who didn't actively participate. I chose to actively participate in church and church activities because I felt it was right. At the time, I'm not sure that I really understood the influence of the Holy Ghost. But looking back, it was the influence of the Holy Ghost that I felt, and that is what continues to motivate me now. I love going to church because I feel good when I do. I also find that attending church makes me want to do better and make better life decisions.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday and other meetings during the week. I also study the scriptures and other church materials to better understand my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am the Bishop, or the lay leader of my local congregation. My responsibilities at church include planning and organizing meetings and activities as well as leading the members of my congregation. I have the opportunity to interact with the members of my congregation, especially the youth.
