Hi I'm Nick

I'm a full-time optometry student. I'm married and have 2 children. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married and have 2 kids. In a couple of years I'll be an optometrist! I was a missionary for my church in Venezuela for 2 years and I love to speak Spanish. I'm a backpacker and a geocacher.

Why I am a Mormon

If the question is "Is this true?", who better to ask than God? Despite the fact that I grew up in the church, I still had to find out for myself if I should continue as a faithful member of the Church. When I was 17 I read the Book of Mormon completely through for the first time. On the day that I finished the last chapter I knelt down in my bedroom and asked God, through prayer, if the Book of Mormon was true. His answer came through the Spirit and I learned then that that the Book of Mormon was true, that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's church on the Earth. So, why am I a Mormon? Because God answered my prayer and told me that this was His church.

How I live my faith

I moved into my current congregation (ward) a few years ago. Prior to the move I was very involved in just about every aspect of church as a counselor to the bishop, but in this new ward I've been asked to work in a very different capacity. Prior to my current calling as a financial clerk in the ward I was in the Nursery, teaching the 2 to 4 year olds. Regardless if I'm asked to lead a congregation or teach the little ones, I know I'm doing what the Lord has asked me to do.
