Hi I'm Jennifer

I'm a Mormon. I live in Texas. My kids don't know what it is like to be in need so they serve to learn gratitude.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom. I work very hard to teach my kids manners and skills like a second language and the gospel. The only thing that is consistant is Family Home Evening once a week when the kids learn about Jesus. They love the songs and the family motto. I was a music teacher and am seeking opportunities to teach parenting skills in the community. The time is not yet at hand for that, so I read as much as I can. Practicing good parenting is the hard part. I love my children and want what's best for them.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were Mormon and I feel a sense of pride in my ancestors who joined the church, but every person must accept the gospel at some point in their life. Luckily I felt the Holy Spirit witness that this is the true church at an early age. I don't know which reason is greater, the way I feel or the logic of it all, but this is a church with answers. God gave commandments and requires obedience. Through Christ's sacrifice mercy and forgiveness are provided. I live a life free of guilt because in daily prayer I accept Christ's free gift. Perfection is wholeness and I am made whole through Christ's infinite atonement.

How I live my faith

I believe what Christ truly taught is love for others and leading through service. Since my husband doesn't go to church, I try to be an example of Christ's teaching in the community. Last year I volunteered at a Pregnancy Resource Center teaching future parents parenting skills. Next I started asking donations for Christmas cookies for the Children's Advocacy Center. It is a center for abused kids. It would be easier to volunteer without my 2 small children, but I want them to be a part of every service I get involved in. I hope my example shows my commitment to Christ's teachings.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Baptism is a commandment and an ordinance. By being baptized we make a commitment to represent Christ in our daily lives. Show more Show less
