Hi I'm Matt
I'm a 31-year old husband and dad of 5 beautiful children. My wife, Ashley, and I have been married for 8-years and have three sons (Asa, Isaac and Lance) and two daughters (Tristyn and Maia). I live with my family in the beautiful mountains of Colorado Springs, Colorado where I work as brand strategist for a local brand consultancy. I have a passion for my wife, children, family, church, athletics, reading, and exploring unfamiliar things. I enjoy meeting people from various cultures and spend a fair amount of free time learning as much about the world as possible.
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon, because I have had several experiences when the Spirit of God has touched my heart and mind in a manner that has completely convinced me that Jesus Christ's gospel and authority resides in the teachings and organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The experiences were true demonstrations of Jesus' love and mercy and are events that I cannot deny were real and personal.
What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?
My wife and I constantly work together in growing closer to Jesus Christ through individual, companionship and family prayer; personal and family scripture study; attending weekly church services; visiting the Denver temple once a month; holding a family night once a week; and serving others when we see the opportunity to do so.
How I live my faith
I try to live my faith by following the example of Jesus Christ as I know best. I focus my heart, mind and actions on doing the simple things: having faith in Jesus, repenting when I make mistakes, obeying His commandments and doing my best to do it throughout my entire life. One way I do this is by helping the teenage boys in my church complete a program focused on developing a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ. I really enjoy watching these young men take steps in their life that deeply demonstrates the impact of Jesus' love for mankind.
