Hi I'm Allison

I am a missionary. I am an elementary school teacher. I am a Jane Austen enthusiast. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 29 years old, the youngest of 5, and I have 14 nieces and nephews. I enjoy reading, listening to music, and spending time with my family and friends. I LOVE learning interesting facts, and then teaching them to others. I graduated from college in December of 2006 in Elementary Education. I looked for a job for 6 months before I was blessed with "my dream job." The end of the 2009-2010 school year I was blessed in a different way. I lost my job and I now have the wonderful opportunity of serving the Lord in the New York Utica Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I began a member of the church because of tradition. But just like every other member I was taught to question and ask those questions. I read the Book of Mormon when I was 16 years old and I prayed at that time to know if it is true. I ask that very same question every time I read the Book of Mormon. I always get the same answer; The Book of Mormon is true. I am a pretty logical person so if The Book of Mormon is true than Joseph Smith truly saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. If Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ than he is a prophet, called of God to lead us in the paths that God wants us to follow. Not a day goes by that I am not grateful for the traditions of my family, for my answer, and for my belief.

How I live my faith

I try to focus on how I can be my best that day in that minute. Sometimes I stumble, but I pick myself up and try again. I am constantly changing and trying becoming a better person than I was before.
