Hi I'm Jon

I'm a creative brand specialist and web designer, a husband, a foodie and a tech-geek, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Ohio. I've played the guitar since I was 7. I played lacrosse for 5 years in middle school and high school. I currently attend a university and am studying public relations, business management, French and Spanish. I work teaching Spanish and other life skills to 19-year-old LDS Missionaries. I'm the "Kobe" of dodgeball. I love to play sports and sing really loud when I think no one is listening. Even though life isn't necessarily always easy, I believe that there is always a reason to be happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a good kid with good grades and good friends, but something was missing in my life. I lacked a sense of identity. I didn't know "who" I was or "why" I was. I just went through life's motions. When I was 14, my friend invited me to a Bible study that took place before school. I loved learning about spiritual things and readily accepted the invitation to come back the next year as well. That was when I learned about and read the Book of Mormon. It made so much sense, coupled with a wonderful feeling of comfort and peace that I had been searching for. I was baptized at age 16. It was the missing piece to my life, and since I've found it, I have never been happier.

How I live my faith

I think faith is a very personal thing to each every one of us. I cannot describe your faith to you because it is yours and only you know how it feels, and vice versa. But there is one universal characteristic of faith that shines in all of us: The more faith we have, the more love and kindness we radiate from our soul towards others. I believe that a faith-filled life is a love-filled life. So that's how I live my faith. I strive to live as Christ-like a life that I can, and when I make mistakes and believe me there are a lot! I repent, or change, and correct them through faith on Jesus Christ. Life is all about becoming a better person. The best way to do that is through the faith on the Atonement sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
