Hi I'm Robert

I'm from Utah. I teach Seminary and Institute religion classes. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love being a dad and a husband. I teach religion to high school and college age students for a living and love teaching and studying the Gospel. I have a Masters degree in Human Development. I enjoy learning how to learn and studying what makes us live and act the way we do. I enjoy remodeling my home, using power tools, and building/working with wood. My wife and I consider ourselves in the DIY-Weekend-Warrior classification! Though I have in the past avoided them, the mountains are quickly becoming one of my favorite places to be, camping, hiking, and admiring their beauty and serenity.

Why I am a Mormon

I think there are many things that get us through this life we all experience here on earth. For me the greatest help through both positive and negative experiences I have found is hope. The Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gives me the hope that the greatest elements of my life here - my family, my knowledge, and other cherished relationships - can continue to be a part of my eternal experience. Being now a husband and father, I can't imagine returning to a life with less. It is this hope that keeps me striving to move forward in learning, in improving, in keeping covenants, and seeking to be the best person and Priesthood holder I can be. I know that Jesus Christ sacrificed His entire mortal experience in order to show us that through Him, the path to this exalted eternity is possible. That "in the world [we] shall have tribulation: but [can] be of good cheer; [He has] overcome the world" (John 16:33).

How I live my faith

The Gospel most affects me as a father and husband at home. Caring for a family is the best, most rewarding thing my faith teaches me how to do. There's nothing better than having fun, spiritual experiences with my family that makes my home a place I want to be. I have the privilege of, and love, teaching the Gospel daily for a living to the youth and young adults ages 14-30. And feeling the faith and the desire to learn and improve from them is contagious and exciting. I enjoy the privilege of serving those in my neighborhood as well. I get to visit many homes in the neighborhood with my responsibility in the Church and being able to help families in need by sharing my skills and the skills of those in the neighborhood through organized service activities is very rewarding.
