Hi I'm Shaun

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since 1981.

About Me

I love my family. I am so grateful to have a loving, wonderful wife and two amazing children that bring out the full meaning of the word JOY. I enjoy aviation, I'm mostly involved with advanced radio controlled model airplanes, but enjoy all aspects of it. I enjoy photography, computers, the Church and speaking Spanish with all of my Hispanic friends.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I have received a personal testimony that the Church, its teachings and the Book of Mormon are true. I was blessed to come to this realization when I was just 19 years old, but it has taken a lifetime to come to the full knowledge of the truthfulness as I am no where near perfect, but over time I have learned that true happiness can be obtained by living the concepts with all my heart, might, mind and strength. I see and recognize the hand of God in my life everyday. I know He loves me and blesses me way more than I could possibly deserve for the effort I put forth. I have no doubt that this is the true Church and you will draw closer to God by living by its precepts than in any other way.

How I live my faith

I try to be the friend to others that I would like to have if I were someone else. :-) I hope that makes sense. I have found great happiness in living in the moment, worrying less about the future and striving to live the teachings of Christ by avoiding those things that offend the Spirit and doing the things that will increase the power of God in my life... Daily prayer, daily scripture reading, striving to serve others, no cursing, deciding to be happy and trying to share that sentiment with everyone I come into contact with. Trying my best to learn each day to be more full of charity and kindness.

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

Absolutely not! The Lord loves all his children the same, especially those who will keep His commandments and try to follow him. People of other races had no more control over their race than you do over the color of your eyes. It's just a skin color, the same as hair color, the same as height, nothing we can have any direct control over. God is pleased with all His children, he loves all of them no matter what color skin they might have and offers the same blessings to all - in the same way God is displeased with anyone, of any color, that doesn't follow Him or openly rebels against Him, yet he has given us the first great gift of moral agency - we can chose for ourselves to do good or to do evil; it's entirely up to each one of us individually.
