Hi I'm Jon

I'm a husband, a father, a grad student studying atmospheric physics and I'm Mormon.

About Me

I'm married to a wonderful woman who makes me better everyday. We have a boy and a girl who are such wonderful blessings to us. They teach me new things every day. I am currently a grad student studying physics. I play the piano, enjoy music, reading, astronomy, watching movies and learning new things. I enjoy camping, hiking, volunteering with the Boy Scouts and having fun with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I know its the only church on the Earth with knowledge of God's complete plan of happiness for each of us. It is the only one with the complete gospel of Jesus Christ. Many churches out there have good parts and true parts, they do good things but they are missing the complete story. I prayed to God and through the Holy Ghost received an answer. I have received many answers since then and have had my testimony that the LDS church is true reconfirmed many times. I love the scriptures, the Old and New Testaments and the Book of Mormon are true and stories in them are about real events and real miracles. The Holy Ghost confirms this to me each time I read them.

How I live my faith

My wife and I pray together and study the scriptures everyday. We also teach our son how to pray and about God through songs, reading, and activities. We attend church each week and worship our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. We try to follow His example by serving others and loving our neighbors. I also help out in my church as the clerk to the leader of our congregation. We plan the Sunday services and find people to fulfill different responsibilities like teachers for Sunday school, employment specialists, or activities for the neighborhood. It's amazing to me how everything works out every week but no one is paid for their service. We are all there because we want to be, we are all brothers and sisters helping each other strengthen our faith in Jesus Christ.

Are Mormons Christians?

Jon
Yes, of course we are, the name of the church is The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints. God is our Father, Jesus is the Only Begotten of the Father. Jesus came to earth, suffered and died for our sins and was resurrected three days later. He did this because he loves us and wants to save us. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Jon
Families are so important because that is how our Father in Heaven set up his plan. God is our Father and the family is an eternal unit, not only the basis of society. We have families so we can grow together and help each other out in our test here on Earth. Families can be sealed in temples so they can be together for eternity, that is the best part of God's plan. If we follow Him and are faithful while on the Earth, He will allow us to be like him in an eternal family. That's what parents do, just like earthly parents want their children to succeed and give them everything they have, our Father in Heaven wants us to succeed and wants to give us everything he has.
