Hi I'm Shawn

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I am a father and a husband. I try each day to be the man our Heavenly Father wants me to be. I have found my life to be very trying, but through the trials I have found the Lord to be very faithful.

Why I am a Mormon

The Mormon faith supports and strengthens my deep commitment to family and our Heavenly Father in a way I feel is more in line with God's desires for my family than any other faith ever has. I grew up not knowing God formally. I later came to Jesus Christ within the Pentacostal belief set. I was introduced to and accepted the truth of the restored gospel through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in my mid 30's. I have struggled with learning the new gospel principles but have found them to be refreshing and comforting, revealing answers to questions no protestant teachings or teachers could answer.

How I live my faith

I live each day attempting to "work out my own salvation with fear and trembling." I pray daily and try to read the scriptures to grow closer to my Heavenly Father so that I can better fulfill my purpose and destiny here on earth in preperation for what awaits me and my family after this life. While doing this I try to set a good example for my family and friends and train my family in the truth of the gospel.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

It is almost always because they simply do not know the truth about what we believe. There are so many false teachings and rumors floating around about the LDS Church and many will not take the time to learn the truth after hearing the rumors. We base every ounce of our faith on our Heavenly Father and His only begotten and firstborn son Jesus Christ. This is what solidifies our place in the world as Christians. Show more Show less
