Hi I'm Jason Mace

I'm a college student. I'm a martial arts instructor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jason and I'm originally from Houston, Texas. I have three sisters and am the only boy in my family, excepting my dad. I grew up in an amazing family with very supportive parents, and even though we're spread out now that everyone has moved away from home, my family is still very close. One thing my family has always enjoyed doing together is martial arts. Over the years, my family and I have practiced six different styles, and I am a certified Tae Kwon Do instructor and third degree black belt. I'm currently attending a university in Idaho, studying computer science. I'm blessed to have a job working as a web developer, which helps me gain experience for my future career. I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I love studying the teachings of Christ, especially in the New Testament.

Why I am a Mormon

Over the years my family has gone through many struggles, which I suppose is typical of all families. But through all the struggle, my family has had a goal to stay close to the Savior, and to work towards returning as a family to Him. We want to be together forever as a family. Only in the Mormon religion can we find the kinds a values and tools that helps us make that a reality. I've learned from my own experiences, through prayer, study, obedience, and at times miracles, that this is the church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to actively help in whatever assignments I have. I try to be reliable, self motivated, and energetic. I currently organize "family home evenings" for young, single college students who are living away from home. Every Monday night, we get together and have a spiritual thought and do some kind of activity. It's probably my favorite thing I've been able to do in the church.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

One of the many things they teach is how we can strengthen our families through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. For a long time, truths about the teachings of Christ were lost. This included how families can be together forever. But through a prophet named Joseph Smith, the doctrines of Christ's church have been restored in their fullness. Show more Show less
