Hi I'm Larry Lynch

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I joined the church when I was 53 years old.

About Me

I am a divorced parent with 5 children. My grand children number eight. I was divorced many years before I joined the church. My hobby is playing golf and enjoy watching all sports. I recently finished college. Gaining an education has been a plus for me and I found that I have a greater capcity to learn than when I was much younger. I live close to two of my children. The other three are scattered. Exercising is in my plan of action and I feel it is a life long program and will add years to my life.

Why I am a Mormon

My living began at the age of 53. This was the year that my old life ceased and I truly was born again. It was a miracle to me as I went from a state of doubt to that of joy. I know that our Heavenly Father and his Son appeared to Joseph Smith. I believe this because it was manifested to me by the Holy Ghost who is the great educator and messenger of our Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ. I know without this I would be an ordinary person seeking the truth. Having a testimony of the truthfullness of the gospel is the gift promised us on our road to happiness. The last 17 years have been filled with joy of a spiritual person and not of a natural person. I know that God wants us to worship him in the spirit which makes me understand why a natural person will not receive such blesings. I am forever thankful to a member of the church that sent missionaries to me. I know that he didn't convert me but was a tool in bringing me to the gospel. A feeling of contentment of where I am on the road of eternal progression offers me the peace that the scriptures talk about..especially the 23rd Pslam. If someone offered me a trillion dollars to refute my testimony I would not be tempted to take it. My religion is who I am and I know people because of it. Although I can not give away my testimony to others I will help them find their way and pray that they might be converted through the great comforter, the Holy Ghost. I share this with you, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen..

How I live my faith

I live my faith as having received a gift from Heavenly Father. My faith creates many opportunities to learn the gospel by believing what is being brought to me. I have found that relying on my faith I leave my mind and heart open to things that enrich my testimony. A testimony is only gained by faith and I try to live my life in a manner where I am wothy of receiving more. If I choose to believe what I think is truth as I did in my other religion I know I am not increasing my faith. My present calling is as a Ward Missionary and as the male single adult representative.

Larry Lynch
The Book of Mormon is different in the sense that no other book will bring you closer to God. There are some scriptures in the Bible that needed translation because of errors. Joseph Smith obtained the plates by visiting the site where they lay for four consectutive years. He was told by the angel Moroni where he could find them. After they were translated they were returned to the Angel Moroni for safe keeping. Show more Show less

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Larry Lynch
We can stop the spread by not being tempted to view porn. If we are aware that even the slightest urge to take a peak causes eternal consequences we will be strong . We can not have the blessings of a moral person if we don't live morally. If someone tries to entice you in viewing pornography remember the previous advice and act as a missionary to help this person to overcome this addiction. Show more Show less
