Hi I'm Katie

I'm a Mormon. I love living and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

About Me

I strive to follow Jesus Christ each day. I am a wife: my loving husband is Don. I am very grateful to be the mother of two incredible boys who bless my life each day. I love animals, especially dogs and horses. I enjoy scrapbooking, gardening, talking, reading and learning about people and places: especially people. I have a desire to be truly known by others: what my heart is.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true because of the witness of the Holy Ghost. There are three lessons I have learned in the past 7 years that I would like to share. I believe that we will all come to know these things for ourselves as we seek to know what is true in life. For some they will come quickly, for others, not so quickly. And for all of us, they will come as a result of our life experiences, challenges and trials. These experiences will lead us to Christ if we allow them. The first is that God's will will ALWAYS be done: no matter what. I learned this lesson after our first son was born during the time that my husband and I endured the pain of a miscarriage, the process of adoption and seemingly endless waiting. The second lesson I learned was that my Savior Jesus Christ will always be there for me. I learned this lesson as I sat in a fertility office feeling completely alone: like nobody knew exactly what I was feeling. Suddenly, I felt the most amazing peace: I felt the comfort of the only One who could truly comfort me: my Savior. I know that eventhough I am a woman and so many times, we feel that men just don't underdstand our emotions and feelings, I absolutely knew in that moment and continue to know that my Savior is always there for me in every way and that He understands my every single heartache. The third lesson has become very real to me in the past year and because of its sacred nature, I will not share the details, but the lesson is that as I live my life as directed by the Holy Ghost, I will be happy. These lessons are part of me: I would never want to be without them although I would not want to again go through the experiences that taught me these lessons so perfectly.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in my everyday choices. I live my faith when I pray, when I am kind to others, when I forgive, when I teach my children, when I speak kindly of and to my husband. I live my faith as I teach the little toddlers at church on Sunday and as I teach the Cub Scouts on Wednesdays. I live my faith as I am honest and as I strive each day to live a more Christlike life.

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is the power and authority of God. Worthy men can use the power of the priesthood to bless the lives of others. Show more Show less
