Hi I'm James

I'm your average Joe American. I aspire to be a sports psychologist and I want to have my own sports radio show. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 and I am serving a mission in Hungary. after my mission I plan to go to college and study psychology and maybe be a sports psychologist. I like play and watch sports with my friends and family when my ankles aren't sprained, which nowadays is almost never.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Mormon but being Mormon wasn't important to me until two summers ago. 3 years prior my mom passed away from cancer. I was attending my church meetings and going through the motions but I still wasn't happy. I would go home and spend most days in bed sleeping or watching TV because I thought now that Mom is gone there is no reason to face the world. The only thing out there is disappointment. It was the lowest point of my life. I stopped going to church and I stopped praying because I didn't think it affected me but as the days went by I was more angry and my self-esteem got lower and lower. Then one day I felt compelled to read the scriptures and the emptiness I was feeling was gone it was replaced by a warm, peaceful feeling and I started praying and going to church again. I felt very alone that summer and into the next school year but I know now that I am never alone, God is there and he loves me. I know now that when I have a problem all I have to do is pray and God will answer my prayers. I also know that through God's plan I will see my mom again and that has given me hope. I am not afraid to face the world anymore, yes I still have my share of disappointments but God is there to help me get through them.

How I live my faith

right now i am serving a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Hungary. i prepared my whole life up to this point in order to serve the Lord as his missionary for two years. during my mission i have spent all of my days looking for ways to help the Hungarian people. it has been the most rewarding time of my life and i thank the Lord every day that i have this opportunity.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

The LDS church is the same church that Christ established in Israel in New Testament times. During Christ's ministry there were 12 Apostles so today there are 12 Apostles. The original Apostles were replaced with new Apostles after they died. Paul and Matthias were two of the new apostles neither of them were part of the original 12 Apostles but they were Apostles. The reason we still have Apostles is to continue to testify of Christ as special witnesses of the name of Jesus Christ in all the world, and to continue the establishment of Christ's church today.
