Hi I'm Maryann

I grew up in Arizona and have moved all around the United States the past few years. I love meeting new people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of seven siblings. I grew up with a dad who was a school teacher and a mom who had the opportunity to stay home with us children. I graduated from college a few years ago and have been searching for what to do next. While searching for what to do for a career and making goals, I have been blessed to make friends from all over the country and the world and have discovered that life is not just the end result, but finding joy in the journey.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have studied many religions and backgrounds and have found that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints takes all the truth from every religion and brings it into one great whole. I love the fact that through generations of time traditions, stories and testimonies of people of religion have testified that God lives. I add my testimony to theirs and with all my heart testify that God and His son Jesus Christ live. I have felt the guiding and powerful influence of the Holy Ghost bear witness that there is no greater love than that of the Father and Son and that by living the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ true happiness can be found. I love The Book of Mormon because of its guiding influence as it leads all mankind back to Christ and with the companionship of the Bible all truth and righteousness can be found. I have also had a powerful witness that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and although still a man with faults of his own, that he was chosen to bring forth the restoration of the gospel in these latter-days. I testify that because of the restoration all mankind have the opportunity to benefit from the priesthoood authority brought back to the earth. I am so grateful that the fullness of the gospel has been restored and that I have been blessed to take part in the great joy and many blessings that are associated with being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service to others. I have recently returned from a mission, where I had the opportunity to serve others through teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and through physical service. Currently I am a Sunday School teacher and love the opportunity to share the gospel messages set forth by the prophets of old and the prophets of new. There is great power in the words of the scriptures and I have an opportunity to study those words and to share with others what I have learned.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Maryann
It is true that Jesus appeared to those in ancient America after his death and resurrection. After visiting with His disciples in Jerusalem, He visited His disciples in America. He loves all of his children and taught the same gospel to those in the ancient Americas as He did in the Old World. During His visit, Jesus Christ not only taught His gospel, but he also performed many miracles for the people of Ancient America and showed them that His love is not limited by sea nor land, but is for all who will come unto Him.
