Hi I'm Kathy

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in a Mormon family in California. I now live in Utah. I am an interpreter for the deaf.

About Me

I am married and have three children. My first husband died when my oldest son was a baby. I remarried and had two more children. My oldest is now serving a mission for the church in Florida. He is serving among Spanish-speaking people. He really enjoys it, especially the food!

Why I am a Mormon

Since my parents were Mormon before I was born, I have never known what it is like to NOT be a Mormon! When I was a child, I went to Primary, the church meeting for children. I learned about Jesus Christ and the prophets. I sang songs. It was fun! When I was a youth, I enjoyed having activities and lessons with other teens my age. As I grew, my understanding and faith grew too. At 15, I read the Book of Mormon and gained a testimony that it was true. Now I love to read the Book of Mormon with my husband and children. We read together as a family and discuss what we read. Our home is full of peace and Christ-like love when we read and pray together daily.

How I live my faith

I have been a sign language interpreter for the deaf my whole adult life. For my job, I interpret telephone calls. In the church, I help interpret church meetings for the deaf. I really love interpreting! And I really love the church! I love the calm and peaceful feeling that I get when I pray, attending church meetings, read the scriptures, and serve others. It helps me be a better person. I'm not perfect, but I strive every day to become better, and to do what the Lord wants me to do.
