Hi I'm Colin

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Utah. I'm a student.

About Me

Right now my life mostly consists of studying, work, and family. I should be done with my undergraduate degree (microbiology) pretty soon and will be moving on to some sort of graduate school. I've been married for a couple of years now. I've always liked playing and watching soccer, and sometimes other sports too.

Why I am a Mormon

I've chosen to stick with the religion that my parents taught me to love as a kid because of the simple truths that it teaches. I love knowing clearly the purpose of life, that life is all about becoming a better person, overcoming difficulties, helping others along their way, and enjoying the world God created for us. To accomplish what we can in this life we can have the help of our Heavenly Father, and we can develop a true friendship with him. Knowing that I can be clean and have a chance to be happy because of what Jesus Christ did for all of us gives me strength.

How I live my faith

My wife and I help teach the children in our ward. We're substitute teachers, so we get to teach all age groups, it just depends on the week. We enjoy the funny personalities of the children, and their perspective on the teachings of Christ.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe that it's through the grace of our Savior, Jesus Christ, that we can be saved and be able to live with our Heavenly Father and our families forever. We have this opportunity because Christ suffered for our sins, died on the cross, and was resurrected. Without Christ's sacrifice and help, we would not be able to achieve our goal of returning to heaven. Although we rely 100% on Christ's grace to be saved, Christ has asked us to work hard to be the best people we can be and to keep His commandments. Show more Show less
