Hi I'm Houston

I love to travel, I love photography, I want to be a Marine Biologist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Houston Brooks and im a Mormon! About me? Well, im pretty much an open book.I am a happy person, always laughing and smiling. I try to always be positive in every way, always looking on the bright side of life. I love to be with people I love. This includes both my family and my friends, which are both cruicial parts of my life! I am shy when I first meet you, but once I become comfortable I am crazy. I love being happy. I have several hobbies! First I love photography, that is a true passion of mine. I love to capture the beauty all around me. It brings a sense of peace and enjoyment into my life. Also it captures a beauty in common, everyday life, that some people overlook. Highlighting those little wonders in life. I also love capturing those special moments, as memories are everything! Our knowledge and memories are some of the few things we take with us when we depart from this life and continue on to the next. Having those moments to hold and cherish forever is something special, and a gift I love to be able to provide to others. I love to serve! I love serving others. I love helping, I love loving. I try to share my smie and my happiness with all around me. I want to be an example to others. I love music! I love to sing and dance and even play the piano. While I may not do any of those well, I enjoy them and love to do so with others. Lastly I love to read! One of the best books to read is the Book of Mormon! But I greatly enjoy many other books as well!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I am a Mormon not because I was raised in the Church nore because both of my parents are members, not because I went to early morning seminary or even because my parents encouraged me to serve a mission. No, I am a Mormon because I recieved a witness from the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon was true, that Joseph Smith had been a prophet and that he had truly restored the gospel to the earth and that I could live with my family, even my deceased family, forever. I know that Heavenly Father answers our prayers and he sends his Messenger, the Holy Ghost, to confirm truths to our hearts, fill our minds with personal revelation and to bring us peace and comfort when we need it. I know the Holy Ghost when I feel it, I can not doubt it. I am a Mormon because I took Moroni's promise and sought the truth. Moroni 10:3-5 3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how amerciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. 4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would aask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. 5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. And I recieved an answer through the power of the Holy Ghost. The truth was revealed to me. I know and love my Heavenly Father. I am so very grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ, and power of his infinite Atonement that he performed for each and every one of us. I know that the Holy Ghost is one of the greatest gifts God could give us, he is our constant companion.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith? As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, living my faith is a part of who I am. I try to incorporate the gospel and its teachings into my every day decisions. This isnt always easy, but we have a lifetime to progress and become more like Christ. Doing this has blessed me greatly! The gospel has many teachings about the way we live, about standards and morals. Serving others and loving your neighbor. Being a good contributor to our society. That is what we do, who we are! What I do.. who I am. Following the teachings of the Book of Mormon, or that of modern day Prophets has blessed me with the capacity to make better decisions in life, allowing me to have more and better opportunities. I live my faith everyday, by being Christlike in my everyday choices to serve my fellow brothers and sisters. I focus on serving, trying to do as the Lord would do. The Gospel has brought so much happiness into my life, and I have truly gained a testimony of it through prayer. I want to bring that happiness, and an opportunity to gain a similar testimony to anyone who will listen, and especially to those I love. Every day I try to let my light shine, and to be an example to others. I try to love purely and without any hesitation. I try every day to be more and more in similitude of Christ.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Houston
You may find out of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true by sincerely reading the Book of Mormon and praying about the doctrines within. By taking Moroni's Promise (Moroni 10:3-5) you must have a true, sincere desire to know, and must be willing to act upon the answer you will recieve (as I promise that if you sincerely seek an answer, you WILL recieve one through the witness of the Holy Ghost). I know this to be true and urge you to give it a shot. Show more Show less
