Hi I'm David

I live in South Carolina and I am an Emergency Manager, a graduate student, a husband/father, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in South Carolina and I am sealed to my best friend in the whole world, she also happens to be my wife!!! We are the parents of a 7 year old daughter and almost 2 year old son who know and loves Jesus Christ. Our daughter gets baptized this December and is so excited. We just found out that we are expecting another addition and couldn't be happier!!! They are what we live for and brighten our lives each and every day. I work as an Emergency Manager with the State of South Carolina and am also a graduate student as Clemson University where I am getting a Master's in Public Administration. My current favorite hobby is golf but I particularly love reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I started dating my wife before I joined the church. After dating for some time she expressed to me that she wanted to be with someone that she could share everything with, which included church. I was "in between" churches which is to say that I was an opponent of any type of church because I felt they all were incorrect or incomplete. What started out as a simple question to my brother-in-law led to a full-fledged conversion to the true and restored gospel of Jesus Christ. After talking with the local missionaries and receiving the discussions I decided that this (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) was the missing piece I had been longing for. I was soon baptized into the church and confirmed by my grandfather-in-law who continues to be an example to me of how to lead a family in a righteous and Christ-like manner. I love the teachings of the Book of Mormon and the plainness with which they teach. They are so easily understood and there is an applicable part for every person in the world...EVERY!!! For the first time in my life I have a true faith, the love of a sealed family, and the complete and restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I serve in the Anderson South Carolina Ward as a Ward Missionary and Elder's Quorum Instructor. I love each of these callings in different ways and truly love each of them. As a Ward Missionary I enjoy my time with the full-time missionaries as we seek out those who are searching for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As I teach the lessons with them I feel the spirit consume me and I know that I am truly engaged in the work of the Lord. This calling has taught me how to approach others in a way that presents the true and restored gospel as the great and marvelous work it is. As an Elder's Quorum Instructor I have also learned a great deal, particularly in teaching and discussing the gospel in a larger setting. This has helped me with my research style in preparing lessons and talks. I love learning from other church members in Elder's Quorum because I feel we all have something we can contribute.
