Hi I'm Kali.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Oregon but since I was thirteen I've moved almost every two years for family, school, and a mission for the church. I love experiencing new places, cultures, and people. Through my wanderings I have gained an even greater appreciation for the fact that each of us are children of God, that He loves us, and is very aware of our needs. I am a college student, studying political science, and working part-time. My favorite pastimes are dancing, reading, singing, spending time with my family and friends, and enjoying God's creations.

Why I am a Mormon

I had the blessing of being raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but even as a child there was something about the doctrine and teachings I was taught that resonated with every fiber of my soul. I have always known they were the teachings of Jesus Christ and that they were true. The gospel of Jesus Christ-the path that He has shown us to walk- is my life! All the joy, peace, and comfort that I experience comes from doing my best to walk this path each and every day. There is so much power and spiritual strength that enters our lives when we truly know that we are children of a loving Father in Heaven, that this life has purpose and direction which come directly from God to help us find our way through this mortal journey, that Christ made it possible for us to become clean and worthy to return to live with God, and that there is a life of joy and eternal relationships available to us beyond this life. I express gratitude to my Heavenly Father every day for allowing Christ's gospel to be part of my life.

How I live my faith

The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me purpose on a daily basis. Each day I turn to the scriptures to gain knowledge of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and Christ's gospel. Prayer is what gets me through each day. One of the blessings of being a member of the church is the opportunity to serve in various callings. I currently serve as a teacher in the church.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

When we are baptized, we promise to the Lord that we will "stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places" (Mosiah 18:9) and serving proselyting missions is one way that we fulfill that promise. As members of the Church we desire share with others the light and happiness that have come into our lives because of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Christ said, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Missionaries proselyte so they can share this invitation from the Lord with all people.
