Hi I'm Marie

I am a young single adult, a college graduate, and I am a Mormon

About Me

I am studying interior design in college and have a great passion for the arts including music and artwork. Being outdoors when it is warm enough is one of my favortite activities. I love to serve others and spend time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a personal testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ that has only come through sacred and special experiences as I have prayed and relied on the Lord, read His words in scriptures, and obeyed His commandments. I have come to rely on the Lord's will for me more than my own, which has increased my trust in Him. This phase of my life requires many decisions and changes and without some guidance I wouldn't know what to do. Through my faith in my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and through prayer I know that I can receive guidance to help me with my many decisions. I know that I am not alone because I am a child of God who loves me. Knowing these things helps me face any difficult or frustrating trial that comes with life. I can face those struggles with a smile and know that some time down the road things will work out, and I know from experience that they always do work out. My faith and testimony are who I am, for those are the things that sustain me in all parts of life. I know I am not perfect, but I have a life-time to make mistakes and learn. I am grateful fo a merciful Savior who died for me so that those mistakes don't have to be permanent. I am a Mormon because of the love I feel from my Savior and the experiences I have had in life, for I know it is true.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite parts about my faith is in living its principles of service. I love helping people by encouraging them as a friend when they are down, or supporting them in their activities. All of us need help in this life and I am grateful for the programs my church has to help those in need through humanitarian efforts. Being a part of a congregation of my faith entirely of young single adults, I have come to love associating with others of my age as we help each other be strong and have faith in a world that may at times be discouraging. With others of my age I have a stronghold to rely upon through activities, religious classes, and other social interactions. Where ever I go in this world, I know that I can always find a friend.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Everyday life teaches me that there is a God. The people I meet, the places I go, and the events in my life all show me that there is a God who is watching out for me. I don't believe it could be coincidence that I have met the friends I have made in my life. I have become better because of them. The places I have lived are not coincidence either, for I have had greater opportunities than I could have imagined. Moments in my life where I have had the opportunity to serve others has taught me that God not only cares about me, but all His children who are in need of a helping hand. At the end of the day I watch the sun go down and admire the brilliant clouds that create a marvelous sunset. Every day it is different, but each are so beautiful. Something so wonderful could not happen on its own. The simple beauties of nature show me that a God created it all for our happiness. He cares and I know that the small and simple things that happen in my life. Show more Show less
