Hi I'm Allen

I'm a Mormon. I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am a retired school teacher.

About Me

I earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Utah and a master's degree from Utah State University. I have a wife and 8 children and 12 grandchildren. I enjoy reading, writing, and doing artwork.

Why I am a Mormon

I have studied many other religions and found that each of them have some truth, but I found more wonderful truths in Mormonism than in any other religion. I am a Mormon because I love and cherish the gospel it teaches. It helps me to feel better about life. It helps me face the world with more confidence. It helps me to solve my problems. It helps me to be closer to my Heavenly Father and to my Savior Jesus Christ. It helps me to be a better husband and father. It helps me to be a better neighbor. It helps me to feel better about myself. In other religions, the pastor performs all the ordinances and delivers all the sermons. In Mormonism, the leaders have allowed me to baptize my children, and to speak in church meetings.

How I live my faith

I have been a Sunday school teacher, a scoutmaster, a cubmaster, an explorer advisor, and a counselor to a bishop. I served a 2-year mission to New Zealand and taught school for the Church in Tonga for 3 years. I have assisted with humanitarian efforts by assembling school kits, canning food, stocking shelves, and transporting sand bags to prevent flooding. I have helped families with home repairs and helped move many families in or out of the neighborhood.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Allen
The Mormon Church is growing and spreading rapidly because it fills the need people have to be more closely connected to their Savior, to their loved ones, and to experience the joy of serving their friends and neighbors. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Allen
A husband and wife can live together forever if their marriage is performed by an authorized authority in a temple and if they keep the promises they make. Their children will also be able to live with them. We find that our happiest moments in life are those with each other and our children.
