Hi I'm Sue

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I grew up in San Diego, California and lived most of my life there. I am married and have 4 daughters and 2 grandsons. I am fortunate because all my family live close and we are able to get together once a week for family dinner and holidays. I work as the Customer Service Manager at Bank of the West. I love to read and spend time with my family. I also have 3 close friends that I enjoy spending time with. We have been playing games together for the last 15 years and usually once a year take a trip together. I have had many callings in the church, but I have to say my favorite is teaching the youth (especially the teen-agers). I like it that our church is "all volunteer", no one gets paid for what they do. It gives us a chance to serve one another and be able to grow.

Why I am a Mormon

As I stated above, I was raised in the chuch (in fact I am a 5th generation Mormon). I have attended other churches, but have always felt the most comfortable in my own. We are taught at an early age to read and study the scriptures for ourselves and gain our own testimony of Jesus Christ and Joseph Smith. My husband was in the Navy and no matter where we went, the church was the same and the members immediately welcomed us. He was killed in an accident in 1985 and the members immediately took our family under their wings and loved, supported and comforted us. I feel like my ward is a community of family and can feel the love and support continually from other members.

How I live my faith

I love to read the scriptures. I love to serve in the ward even though right now I am not doing anything specific. Even though my children are "grown" I still love to guide them, and teach them (they also teach me).
