Hi I'm Jacob

and I am a Mormon! :-D

About Me

I love to write, i love sharing the gosple through written words. I love the out doors, I love hiking trails, I love mountains and natural landscapes, but most of all I love being there! I love snowboarding, I did a bit of skate boarding in my teens, and I've never been surfing even though I've lived on the coast my whole life in Florida and a little bit of time in Northern California. I love to explore new things, and as long as I'm with close friends and people I love, then I will always have a great time no matter what we're doing, as long as it upholds to my standards :)

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon (Latter-Day-Saint) because there is nothing greater to believe in. I know that the teachings of the Book of Mormon are true because I've prayed about it and I've witnessed its teachings in my own life. I know that the Holy Bible as long as it is translated correctly is also true and that one is incomplete with out the other. I know that the world has a living Prophet today who's name is Thomas S. Monson. I am a Latter-Day-Saint because I believe in the teachings of our past and living prophets. I have never been happier than I am when living the gospel of Jesus Christ through the teachings and standards that the Mormon church offers me. I cannot imagine a life with out God and the comfort of the Holy Spirit and its guidance in my life. How I live my faith

I am not perfect in every teaching of the church, but making an effort to be so brings me joy beyond what anything outside the church could ever bring. Mostly It has to do with how my relationship with our Father in Heaven has grown by making the efforts to live by His teachings, even in the areas that I struggle, as I would not have it any other way. There are always opportunities to help me grow stronger as I learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ through reading the scriptures and the teachings they bring. I love to attend church and look forward to it every Sunday where I come to know so many great people who are making the same efforts I am in becoming stronger and better at all the life lessons we are taught. I also enjoy participating in church activity's that include anything from helping someone in need to the once in a while barbecue. As a member of the church and the faith Ive acquired while attending church meetings and activities I have had the opportunity to help others in many different ways, including things like volunteering my time in doing service projects, and even things Ive never thought I would or could have ever done, such as learning to be more confident while having leadership rolls in the church. This has not only brought blessing to myself but also to others as I do my part to help them when in need. I live my faith by trying to be an example of who and what I represent as I make my way though this life. Knowing the Book of Mormon is true has brought me closer to God and gives me strength in becoming the individual who I most desire to be.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Jacob
We can increase our faith in Jesus Christ by praying often and reading the scriptures every day, attending church on Sundays and any church activities that might be going on during the week. Praying brings us closer to our Heavenly Father, who is also the Father of Jesus Christ and given enough time we can develop an intimate and trusting personal relationship with Him. Reading the scriptures every day allows us to develop a better understanding of why and how we should live as He wants us to live, and is another way we are able to learn more about Jesus Christ, and our Father in Heaven. This gives us faith and as our faith increases through daily prayer and scripture study. We will gain trust over time while prayers are answered and scriptures come to life as we realize how important they are to us and the things we read are true. The Spirit will testify the things we read are true and we'll start experiencing the promises they offer. Going to church every Sunday is also important, and helps bring us closer to god as we participate in faith building lessons and activities. Attending church activities can also help us build faith, by hearing, seeing, and literally feeling the testimony of those around us. And finally, living as we should. If we do all the things above, but don't make an effort to live the teachings we get from them, it might be a little difficult to have faith, as faith comes from action. If you do your part, Christ is sure to do His and He will let you know that he is there for you, and you'll know that what you're doing is the right thing. Show more Show less
