Hi I'm Jonathan

I'm a full time student at BYU. I love hunting and being outdoors. I'm proud to be a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently at BYU and absolutely love it. I am hoping to get accepted into the BYU Media Arts program. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going hunting, camping and just being outdoors in general. I love being able to experience nature. I have been blessed to be able to speak 4 languages (French, Spanish, English, American Sign Language). I also love animals and hope to someday become a cameraman for National Geographic.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church on this earth. I know that Joseph Smith sincerely prayed to Heavenly Father in the Sacred Grove and that God and Jesus Christ appeared to him. Through the power of God and having the proper authority, Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon and restored Christ's true church. Joseph Smith was a true prophet and I know that we having a living prophet on the earth today named Thomas S. Monson.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving the Lord everyday. I accepted my mission call and I'm excited for the opportunity I have to share the message of the restored gospel. I live my faith by doing my best to bring as many people as I can closer to Christ.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Jonathan
During Christ's ministry in Jerusalem He established the true church of Christ that had fulness of the gospel and the proper priesthood authority. After He was crucified, the apostles were still around to teach people of Christ and keep the church going. Eventually all the apostles were murdered and the power of the priesthood was taken from the Earth. Without the proper authority to lead and guide Christ's church, it quickly became corrupted with the philosophies of men and fell apart. We needed the Restoration of the Gospel in order to know all the things that are required of us to gain exaltation. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Jonathan
From reading the scriptures we can gain a better understanding of how we should live our lives. The scriptures contain so many great lessons and stories and I enjoy learning from them. You can also receive answers to your personal questions by sincerely studying and pondering the scriptures. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Jonathan
Not all Mormons are required to go on missions. Only young men at the age of 19 are required to serve missions. Women can serve missions at the age of 21 if they want to but it is not a commandment. Senior Couples are also encouraged to serve missions if they are healthy and able. Show more Show less
