Hi I'm Michael.

I am working towards a college degree. I love to run. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a 22 year old college student I am the oldest of two brothers in an awesome family. I'm single and looking! At school, I'm studying to become a Civil Engineer because I'm slightly nerdy and so I can have a steady way to provide for my family someday. I began distance running with friends in high school and fell in love with it. I'm now on the college track team and I run just about every day I can. That's led to a great love of the outdoors, which is a source of peace and solitude for me when the world gets noisy. I've also been into photography. I like to capture the beauty and light of God's creations- whatever or whoever they are.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised in the Church, we never took it for granted. Everyone who is a member of this Church is a convert to it, whether we grew up in it or not. There came a time as a youth where I had to question whether I really believed in it or not- and as I pondered on why I would believe, I remembered lots of experiences where I felt the Holy Ghost teaching me truth. The Holy Ghost, or the Spirit, lead me to to find the Truth because it enlightened my mind and filled my soul with joy. God had taught me what I knew Himself though His Spirit and that knowledge still helps me to live my best.

How I live my faith

I love to serve others. As a student it's often easy to become absorbed within yourself and get down. However I've found that through service to others, as Jesus taught us to do through His example, lifts me up and allows me to find joy in life. That can be though simple, unnoticed acts of kindness, or through organized efforts to make a difference in people's lives. I organize athletic events in my student congregation. I visit people in their homes to provide aid in whatever way I can. I feel God's love for me when I can be His hands and help Him do His work.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Michael.
Although we do try and help our own members in their needs as often as we can, we don't by any means reserve our ministry to Mormons only. I spent months in the American midwest helping to rebuild after devastating floods destroyed thousands of homes, most of which didn't belong to Mormons. We believe that all of us are God's children and that we're all experiencing this life on Earth together.  Show more Show less
