Hi I'm Lilly! :D

I'm a Mormon. I believe in Jesus Christ. I love Him. He has never let me down and I hope to never let Him down.

About Me

I grew up in a border town in Texas where there was a lot of racial strife between the Anglos and the Mexicans. Being both Anglo and Hispanic, I didn't want to choose sides. I met my husband in college and we moved to New Mexico where we've been married almost thirty years now. We have three children who are all grown and they are truly jewels in our crown. God and family are the most important things to me. I love animals, music, technology and old movies. I'm working on finishing the college degree I started over thirty years ago. This is a challenge and I'm constantly sweeping the cobwebs out of my brain!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born into this church. More importantly though, I am still a Mormon because I was "converted" as a teenager to the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ which was restored in these latter days. I prayed to Heavenly Father and He answered my prayer. He knows who I am.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a good Christian woman. I stive to emulate Christ's example and do as He did. I'm not perfect but I believe perfection is a journey, not a destination. As long as I'm headed in the right direction, I feel like I'm making progress. I could not make it one day without praying to my Heavenly Father. I love Him and I know that He loves me and is aware of all that I do. My life is better because I strive to live not only by the Ten Commandments, but by commandments given in these, the latter days. I want to be able to face my brother, Jesus Christ, with confidence when I see Him again. Reading the scriptures daily helps me keep on track.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Lilly! :D
Mormon women are strong and intelligent. We believe that the family is the most important unit in society. We believe in the importance of education. We believe that we are just as important to God as men are and that we are equal partners in our marriages. We are special because we are co-creators with God and He has entrusted us with the care and nurture of His spirit children sent to earth. We believe in being faithful to our husbands. We are entrusted will the leadership of many organizations but our most important job is our children. We believe that we are daughters of a loving Heavenly Father and we love Him. We testify that our Brother, Jesus Christ, died for us and suffered for anything and everything we will ever go through. We believe in our Brother, the Holy Ghost, and know that He is there to testify to us and to comfort us if we will but reach out to Him. Show more Show less
