Hi I'm Kathryn

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in New Jersey. My father was raised LDS, but was less active. My mother, through a contact from the stake missionaries, joined the church when I was 4. I graduated from BYU in Early Childhood Education, and raised 4 children, mostly as a single parent. I now have 7 grandchildren! I have enjoyed many opportunities to serve in music and teaching callings in my wards.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my mother had me baptized. I stay a Mormon because I know in my heart that it is my destiny to return to live again in the presence of my Heavenly Father. Following the guidelines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is the best way that I can fulfill that destiny.

How I live my faith

I constantly struggle to follow the example of my Savior, but the opportunities I have had, and continue to be blessed with, to grow and learn, are a great help in that effort. I have been blessed to serve the youth and others in my neighborhood. I have served on my local Parent Teacher Association boards and taught music and the gospel, sometimes together, in several capacities. That not only gives others the opportunity to grow, but helps me tremendously to stay focused on trying to overcome my own weaknesses.

What is being a Mormon like?

It is hope. It is direction. It is the opportunity to serve Jesus Chtist through the service of others. It is joy in the journey. It is strength to succeed in overcoming life's challenges. It is comfort through closeness with a loving Savior and Father in Heaven. It is the path to fulfilling life's purpose. Show more Show less
