Hi I'm Trey

I served in Africa, I'm studying accounting, I'm interested in Venture Capital, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born in Houston, Texas and moved from there to Colorado to Utah to Minnesota to Iowa to Tennessee and now to Utah again! I also served my mission from June 2010- 2012 in the Uganda, Kampala mission. I served half my mission in the country of Uganda and the other half in Ethiopia. I loved my mission and I love the people of Africa! I'm currently studying accounting and doing internships involving venture capitalism and finance. I plan on graduating in 2015. I also currently work at the MTC in the IPC (Internet Proselyting Center). It is such an opportunity to work there. I get to meet so many great people, even when they want to argue about the gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, not because my parents are, or because I've grown up in the church, but because I've found out for myself that the church is true. The doctrines are too true, the scriptures are too right, and Joseph Smith was too inspired. I didn't always believe, but after attending BYU I came to know through my heart and mind that this is the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that he has a plan for us that allows us to achieve true happiness. The most relevant things to me in the Church are that Jesus is the Christ, God is our Father, and salvation comes through Faith and Obedience to them. Everything else is just appendages to those beliefs.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by action. Actions speak louder than words. You don't need to wear clothing or anything else to show that you are a follower of Christ, you show that by how you act. I try to be tolerant and patient with others as I hope they can be with me. Reading the scriptures and prayer are important and are things I can do by myself or with my family. The impact of such actions resonates throughout the day with everything else I do. I'm not perfect and won't be in this life, but through Christ I can come closer to what he wants me to be.
