Hi I'm Kodi

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 22 years old. I am currently working full time in Health Care. I have found extreme tranquility in card making, and I do this often to relax. I started to play the piano at the age of 5 and this is a huge part of my life. I teach piano lessons to a few young children in my neighborhood. Music is a huge part of my life. I love to read books, and watch movies, and I just do my best to enjoy each day that I am alive here on this earth. I am trying my best to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it has had such a HUGE impact on my own life. I feel that if I could help one person feel of the love that can come from our Heavenly Father, as I have felt, I know that I will have been a success.

Why I am a Mormon

Often times I think when people hear that someone was born into the church they wonder how we could really know that it is true if we have never known any other way. This is an incorrect assumption. I was born in to a family that was strong in the church, and the Gospel goes quite a ways back in my roots. As a young child I went to church with my family, but as I grew older it was entirley a choice that I was left to make. I chose to go to church because I knew what I was taught there to be true. I recently have been through some challenging times. At times, me being the human that I am tried to handle my life on my own, I tried to fix my problems by myself. It didn't take long to see that I couldn't do that, I need to have the Lord on my side. And though I never left the church and I never stopped believing it was true, I realized that it is more than that. I have to allow the church to be my life, to be that driving force that keeps me going. I know now that if I turn to the Lord he is ALWAYS there and he will never leave me.

How I live my faith

In my ward I am a Primary teacher in the Sunbeam class, which is the class for the 3 and 4 year olds. There we meet as a group to sing songs about our Savior and the Gospel. We then go to a smaller class, where I and another Sister in the ward will teach the children each week. I love being in Primary. The children have such sweet, simple testimonies of the Gospel. I am often learning from them and the things that they often remind me are the things that are truly important. I love the song from the church artist, Jenny Phillips "Live Like You Believe". The chorus is something that I have playing over and over in my head this weekend: Live like you believe, Live like you know. That's one sure way, your faith will grow. Listen to your heart, Search in your soul. And you'll find the strength that you need to live like you believe. I know I'm defiantly not a perfect example of such a way of life, but this is my goal. I know that once you too find that you know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ on the earth that you will feel the burning desire, as I have, to share the gospel with all those you know. I know that if we DO try to live the way our Father in Heaven has asked us He will bless us and we will find our lives greatly enriched, and blessed.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I know there is a prophet on the earth today, such as Moses was in his day. President Thomas S. Monson is a true and living prophet who receives inspiration from our Heavenly Father on the things he would have us know. I know this to be true, as the things that he teaches are things that have helped me to improve my life. I feel the Spirit manifest the truth of his messages each time I hear him. They are true and correct principles, sent through a Prophet of God, to the Lord's children to enrich and bless our lives. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement of Jesus Christ was the greatest gift that I, or any other person could ever receive. Jesus Christ knelt to pray and take upon himself my sins, and the sins of every person that has, or ever will walk the earth. This was a necessary sacrifice because I am not perfect and I make mistakes on a daily basis. I would never have been able to live a perfect life on my own, but Jesus Christ being perfect took upon him the grief and pain of my sins and sorrows, he took upon himself the pain of my sicknesses and other physical pain so that I would never have to be alone. There isn't a day that goes by, not a pain or sorrow that I can experience that he has not felt as well. Because of this I know that I could never be alone, because no matter what it is I experience someone else has felt the pain as well, He understands what I'm feeling. I could never say enough to explain just how the Atonement has changed my life forever! I can't not begin to properly express the joy that forgiveness has brought in to my life, forgiveness that could only come through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
