Hi I'm Tina

I am an Arizona girl, born and raised. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a busy mother of five children ages 10 to 20. I love spending time with my family, reading, cooking and hiking. I enjoy teaching youth and especially those with special needs.

Why I am a Mormon

My father is a convert to the Mormon church. He was baptized when I was 8 years old. My mother was raised a member but was not active. I have very vivid memories of family life before becoming active in the church. I recognized a feeling of peace and calm that replaced chaos and fear. As I continued to learn about my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, I gained a testimony of prayer. I know that my prayers are heard! I have felt divine guidance and comfort as I have prayed for help in difficult times. Raising teenagers is not an easy task. Yet, as my husband and I pray daily for assistance, the promptings come! I also have a testimony of the Book of Mormon. I have read and studied and then prayed and received undeniable confirmation of its truthfulness. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that together with the Bible, there are so many teachings after which we can pattern our lives.

How I live my faith

At church, it is my responsibility to teach others about being prepared for natural and economic disasters and unexpected changes in financial, emotional and life situations. I organize Preparedness Fairs open to members as well as the community to help inform people about gardening, cooking and canning, water and food storage, budgeting, literacy skills, CPR, Spiritual Preparedness and many other topics pertaining to personal and family preparedness.

In whom should we have faith?

Tina
We should have faith in Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. We should also have faith in the prophet who has been called to be the Lord's mouthpiece on earth to guide and teach His people. Show more Show less

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?

Tina
As I have used the Savior as my guide, so many of his teachings have influenced my life. Perhaps the most significant of those teachings, to me, would be love. The Savior loved everyone despite their circumstances. He loved his enemies and those who persecuted him. He loved both the saint and the sinner. He loved unconditionally. I want to be like him! Though I am far from perfect, I am trying to have and to show love to everyone. Show more Show less
