Hi I'm Ross

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student. I served a mission in Mexico. I enjoy playing sports like basketball, frisbee, ping pong, soccer, baseball, etc. I am very musical as well. I have recently been involved in an acapella group.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, I didn't always know that the church was 100% true. I knew it was good and spiritually uplifting. When I read the Book of Mormon and prayed inquiring of its truthfulness I found it to be a true book. It provides understanding of why we are here, where we are going, and our true identity as sons and daughters of God. A domino effect followed this testimony. Knowing the Book of Mormon to be true, I could not doubt that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, for he translated the book. It is a divine witness that God calls and speaks with man still today. He has not forgotten us. He has provided one true church that offers the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I currently participate in the service committee at my church. I organize and plan ways for the ward to participate in service. Recently, we have sung at nursing homes, cleaned yards, etc. I enjoy my assignment.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a compilation of different records written by men who lived anciently in the Americas. It is named after Mormon because he compiled the records. Mormon lived around 400 A.D. He took the most important of thousands of ancient records and compiled them into one record by commandment of the Lord. The book begins with a family that travels to America from Israel on a command from the Lord around the time of Jeremiah (600 BC). Records from men such as Nephi, Jacob, Helaman, Alma, Mosiah, Moroni, and Mormon are included in the Book of Mormon. Many of these men were called of God to prophesy and call the people to repentance in the Americas. Show more Show less
