Hi I'm Jan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the church at the age of 8 and after some struggles in my teen years I finally found my footing in my 20's. I was married in the Oakland temple and have two awesome (now adult) children. I run an office for a General Contractor. Oh, and I am also a stage 4 metastatic breast cancer survior.

Why I am a Mormon

In my teens I discovered that a part of me was truly incomplete. I attended everything in body but not with my mind or spirit. In my 20's I returned to the gospel of my youth with a whole heart and found it was exactly what I had been missing and I never turned back since then. The gospel of Jesus Christ as found in the Church of Jesus Christ is complete.

How I live my faith

I share the responsibility with my Husband to provide quality activites for families that live within our Stake boundaries. A Stake is a region covered by several Wards congregations. I'm also a Visiting Teacher with 3 awesome Sisters that I get to visit each month. It's wonderful to be a part of their lives and have them be a part of mine. I love how the gospel allows me to serve in so many things with so many opportunities to give and to grow.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

That God is our Loving Father in Heaven. He is also all powerful and all knowing. Because he loves us he has given us the opportunity to come here to earth to gain a body and to learn and grow by giving us the gift of agency. To choose for myself and gain the benefits of my choices. He also allowed his Son to come here to pay the price for each of us by giving his life and atoning for our sins. His main focus is us. His main goal is our immortality and eternal life. Show more Show less
