Hi I'm De'Ken

I love hanging with my wife and doing anything outdoors or in the water. I am studying to become a dentist and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love to go hiking and camping and anything out doors. I have been hunting with my family since I was about eight years old. In high school I did football and wrestling for a couple years. Then my senior year my mom passed away and I decided it would be best to stay home and help my family. I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Texas Houston South mission from May 2010-June 2012. I am currently married and studying to become a dentist at BYU-Idaho.

Why I am a Mormon

I was actually born into this church and have been going to church since I was born. I love this gospel!!! The death of my mother caused me to question many things in my life, but because I had the gospel I have found peace. I cannot say that I know everything, but I do know that our Savior Jesus Christ loves me and suffered and died so that I can be with all my loved ones again someday. I can honestly say that I do not know where I would be without this gospel which has taught me how to come unto Christ and live a happy life through Him.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a ward mission leader in my congregation. I basically help to organize missionary efforts in our small congregation. More than that I spend every day just trying to do my best to be more like my Savior. I am nowhere near perfect, and I know it is only through Him that I will be able to spend eternity with my family.

Are Mormons Christians?

De'Ken
Mormons are absolutely Christians. We believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. We believe He came down here to this Earth and performed many amazing miracles throughout His Earthly ministry. However, the greatest act He performed was His Atonement, His suffering in the garden of Gethsemane, death on the cross, and resurrection from the grave. We believe that it is only through Christ that we can return and live with God our Heavenly Father again. Show more Show less
