Hi I'm Frank

I grew up in South Carolina, I flew F-16's and became an airline captain. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a few stories to tell, and I believe everyone else does, too. I love to learn about history and people and hear their stories. My ancestors came to America when it was a wilderness. They were poor and worked hard as farmers. I've tried to raise my family with the same purposeful devotion as I believe my heritage supports.

Why I am a Mormon

In the last part of Daniel Chapter 2 in the Old Testament, we learn that God would set up His Kingdom in the last days to cover the earth (and destroy all earthly kingdoms). I believe early America and its Constitution gave place for such a beginning as Daniel describes. Reason and history would suggest that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is this kingdom, but facts pale in comparison to the witness of the Holy Spirit. I have come to know from that Spirit, by exercising my faith, that the Book of Mormon is the word and work of God. We now have prophets on the earth again to lead us in safety. This is a tremendous blessing as we face a challenging future.

How I live my faith

As I learn more about the love Heavenly Father truly has for me as an individual, it encourages me to conduct my life in such a way as to not offend Him. I love my parents here on earth and try to bring honor to them by my behavior. Sometimes I fall short. Their love always has room for forgiveness. Surely God's love is much more encompassing, which is why He offered His Son to atone for our mistakes. This atonement is the center of my life, and the more I consider the power of it, the easier it is for me to live a better life.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Frank
Yes. Many people think that the Book of Mormon is OUR bible. This is not so. We believe the Lord has spoken to many nations, and they have their records. We are extremely thankful for the record of the Jews, and we use this Holy Bible in concert with other works the Lord has given us, including the Book of Mormon, which is a record kept by peoples of the Western hemisphere who were descendants of Joseph. For a biblical reference of this concept, see Ezek. 37: 16-17, 19-20. Show more Show less
