Hi I'm Orrin

I'm a student. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been raised in southern British Columbia on a family ranch, and thats how my love for nature began. I'm a huge fan of hiking and pushing myself to the limits. As of this morning, I am currently still a student preparing for the future, and take each day as a learning experience. I have a love for music, and enjoy the time I get to spend with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised a member of this church, but from my upbringing in Southern BC I have seen and felt the influence of what the world has to offer. Why am I a Mormon? Well to start off, I am a Mormon because I love the feeling of self importance as I live as God wants me to live. I feel happy, even when things aren't going exactly as planned. I'm not perfect, and I can distinguish between times when I am being a faithful servant to God, and when I am not; I feel more guidance in my life from Heaven when I live as I should. Through being open and willing to learn about Gods continued revelation to his children, I've come to know that this church is lead by a living prophet, that the Book of Mormon is sacred scripture, and that prayer is my own personal connection with my Father. I love it! Its true, and I have come to know that time and time again. I love Jesus Christ and his teachings with all my heart, and I am so grateful for all I have been blessed with. The list of reasons why I am a Mormon could be unlimited. Each struggle that I face in life, every pain and heartbreak, can be swallowed up in the love that the Saviour has for me. It is only through Jesus Christ that I can truly feel the love of my Father in Heaven, and through repentance that I can become renewed and clean. Not all of my family members believe as I do, and some have come to even doubt the existence of God, but my conviction of the divinity of Christ continues to grow each day as I constantly seek Him. I love the strength that the gospel of Jesus Christ gives me.

How I live my faith

I just got back from being a missionary in California for two years, and it was amazing! I love how everyone of us as children of our Heavenly Father have this responsibility to serve and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with one another. It doesn't matter at what age you are, or to what age group you are called to serve, the Lord blesses us as we go out and strive to lift the lives of those around us. Each day is an opportunity for me to grow closer to God, and so even though I left my home for two years to help others, it is still my opportunity to serve and help others here at home.
