Hi I'm Daniel Haslam

I'm serving my mission in Panama City, Panama and I'm from Draper, Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Draper, Utah and am currently serving my mission in Panama City, Panama. I am the youngest in my family and have only one older sister named Rachel. Before my mission I attended one year of college in Orem. Before my mission I worked for Real Salt Lake, UVU Athletics, BYU Football, and Sports Radio 1280 the Zone. I love sports and the outdoors and love to hike, camp, fish, etc. I am so grateful for the family I have and love them so much! I have been able to share many incredible experiences with my family. They are truly the greatest blessing in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I was born into an LDS family in Utah. My sister was adopted in Baton Rough, Louisianna and I was adopted in Salt Lake City, Utah. I know there are no accidents with the Lord and that we were ment to be in the same family! That is not the only reason I am Mormon though, as I have grown up I have had to choose to be Mormon myself. I know this church is the only true church because I have prayed about it as well as prayed about Joseph Smith and the Restoration. I have also read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know it is true. I have been surrounded by incredible examples in my life that have helped me gain my faith. My Mom and Dad and sister are the most incredible people. They have been the best examples of me and have really helped me. I love them so much! This Gospel is the most real thing on the earth today. I know that if anyone will pray sincerely to know if this church is true that they will feel the Spirit of the Lord testify to them that this is true! I know Thomas S. Monson is our Prophet on the Earth today and that he receives revelation for us. I know Joseph Smith restored this Gospel and that he translated the Book of Mormon by the Power of God. Jesus Christ has made a way for us to return to Him and our Heavely Father through his Atonement. I know I can live with my family forever, death is not the end. Christ loves and knows all of us and all of our pains, weaknesses, and struggles and he wants to help us!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the best person I can be and by helping others. I served as a Gospel Docterines teacher in my BYU ward and am now serving a mission because I want to bring people the Gospel of Jesus Christ and show them that there is a purpose in their life. I want to share with people the importance of families and the love Christ has for them! I hope to share this message with the people of Panama.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Daniel Haslam
Mormons believe that Families are the most central unit in life. We believe families can live together forever after this life. The restored Gospel of Jesus Christ blesses and helps families as they strive to develop stronger relationships and spiritual strength in their families. Families are ordained of God and God has established families to bring happiness to His children and prepare us for Eternal Life. The home is the best place to teach, learn, and apply principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Spirit of the Lord abides with families and blesses us with peace, joy, and happiness. Our families should be the most important thing we have. In Alma 43:47 it reads, "And again, the Lord has said that: Ye shall defend your families even unto bloodshed. Therefore for this cause were the Nephites contending with the Lamanites, to defend themselves, and their families, and their land, and their country, and their rights, and their religion." (Alma 43:47) I know families are central to God's plan and that we can be with our families forever in happiness. I love my family so much! They are the greatest blessing in my life! Families are ordained of God and are here to help us. I wouldn't know what to think of Heaven without my family, it just wouldn't be Heaven to me. I know families are forever! Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Daniel Haslam
The story of the Book of Mormon began with a man named Lehi, a Hebrew prophet, who fled Jerusalem with his family and several others, at the instruction of the Lord. Lehi and his sons built a ship and sailed from the Arabian Peninsula to the Americas approximately 600 B.C. .The crowning event of the Book of Mormon came when the Savior Jesus Christ visited these ancient inhabitants in the Americas in 34 A.D. after his resurrection and ascension, and taught the same gospel He preached in ancient Jerusalem. He also healed the sick, the lame, the blind, and all who were afflicted. The effect of His visit was so profound that for the next 200 years the people lived in perfect peace. .Everyone is invited to read the Book of Mormon and find out through sincere prayer if what it says is true. We can feel this confirmation when we study the Book of Mormon with diligence and faith, and pray about it, as promised in the following scripture “And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost” Moroni 104. .
