Hi I'm Joseph

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After graduated from high school, I went on a mission to Paris, France, from 1988-1990. Then I went to college for an undergraduate degree in English, History, and secondary education. I also was a member of the Army National Guard as a combat engineer from 1993 until 2001. Then I worked on a graduate degree in English. I have taught in Chinle, Arizona, on the Navajo Nation, in Monterey, California, and served in the active duty Army where I served in Wuerzburg, Germany, and Tikrit, Iraq. I have since 2005 been an English teacher in Utah. I am married and have two kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church, but I had to find my faith in God, in Jesus, and in the Gospel as is recorded in the scriptures by searching for the truth. I found my answers about God's truth through prayer and through answers taught by the Holy Spirit in response to my prayers to God in Jesus' name.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying to our heavenly father and by living the words of Jesus as recorded in the Holy Scriptures. I attend church regularly and serve as a Cub Scout cubmaster.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, we worship God, the father of us all, and His Son, Jesus Christ, who died for us all and atoned for our sins so that we can return and live with God, in His presence, without sin. Joseph Smith is a prophet. He is revered for his role as a prophet but is certainly never worshiped. Show more Show less
