Hi I'm Doug

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 27 year-old husband and father. I work in public education and enjoy playing sports, watching movies, and spending time with my family. I believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, and I try hard to prove my faith by loving and serving my neighbors.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it's the right thing to do. With so many churches telling you that their message is true, it's refreshing to belong to a church that focuses less on being right and more on doing the right thing. That's a philosophy that I can center my life around.

How I live my faith

"And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." --Mosiah 2:17 Whether it's at home, work, school, church, or in the community I try to spend my time helping other people. In the New Testament the Savior told his disciples, "Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it." I firmly believe that by focusing on others I will be able to bring more happiness to those around me.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

I've found that the best way to increase my faith in Jesus Christ is to love and serve my neighbors. As I provide service to them and act upon my faith, it grows...kind of like watering a seed. If you water it enough, and keep it clean and safe, it will eventually become a mighty and unshakeable tree. The scriptures lay out values like hope, faith, and charity and I feel that these are the basis for providing Christ-like service to others so that we can grow our faith. Show more Show less
