Hi I'm Evelynne

I'm an Aussie mother of three. I am a graphic designer. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have three beautiful children who's personalities are a constant surprise to me. Before becoming a mother myself, I always thought parenthood was about moulding children in to great people. Within minutes of my first baby being born, I began to see that children come to earth as works of art in and of themselves- and as parents our role is not that of a creator- but as a facilitator and a protector. I love being a mum. My husband rocks! Our personalities in some ways are polar opposites- but somehow we meet in the middle and balance each other out beautifully. Design is my BLISS. I'm still gathering a little toolbox of skills through my studies, but I am enchanted by the ability we have to visually create and communicate. My greatest desire is to plaster the walls of the world with images that celebrate life, joy, family and fun.

Why I am a Mormon

A friend once asked me- "What if you die and find out everything you believed in isn't even true? That you wasted all this time and energy on something that isn't real?" My response to her went something like this. It is not the next life that motivates me to live the way that I do today. It takes some sacrifice to be a member of our church, absolutely- but what I gain here and now substantially outweighs any "sacrifice". The gospel strengthens me, teaches me how to find happiness in this life, teaches me self worth and encourages me to develop my talents and get a good education. The church helps me to raise my family. It gives me a framework of morality to teach my children. In a world that degrades and objectifies women, my sons will be taught to honour and respect women as equals. My daughter will be taught that she has a divine nature and she will be encouraged to develop the wonderful gifts and talents that she came in to this world with. The church encourages couples to nurture their relationship- to go on dates, learn together, grow together, to be whole-heartedly faithful to each other in word, thought and deed. So if I were to die and find out that it wasn't true- I have lost nothing and gained everything that really matters to me. But it IS true. And I know that because I have studied the Book of Mormon. I feel peace when I read it and when I prayed and asked God if it was correct he answered my prayer in a private and personal way.

How I live my faith

At the moment I teach Sunday school to a lively bunch of 8-10 year olds. Our lessons at the moment focus on the New Testament and the life of Jesus Christ.
