Hi I'm Brian

I live in California, but I've worked throughout the United States.

About Me

I manage a computer consulting company. I've been in the IT field for 25 years and enjoy helping my clients get the most out of technology. But more important than my job is my family. I've been married to my wife for 25 years and I have three sons who I am very proud of.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon and I'm glad that I did. As a teenager, I heard several of my friends ask questions that I could answer about life and why our actions matter. Some of them listened, but others made choices that they later regretted. I'm grateful that I learned about God and his commandments. By understanding God's rules and trying to live them, I avoided some of the hard times that my friends experienced.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon keeps me busy. Everyone has an opportunity to serve. One of my favorite "callings" was to be Cubmaster and plan Pack Meetings for all the Cub Scouts. It was like planning a monthly party for 20 boys and their families. I had two sons in scouting and we loved it. We also try to serve one another. Several times a year, we organize community serve projects to paint schools, maintain parks, and send care packages to the troops. Giving takes our minds off ourselves and helps us focus on others - just as Christ taught us.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Since the world began, God has tried to communicate with us, his children. Throughout the ages and across the world, he has selected men and women to be prophets to teach us about God. When we listen, he usually directs his prophets to organize churches to teach and minister to people's needs. When Christ lived on the earth, he organized his church personally, so his apostles could continue to teach even after he was gone. Unfortunately, after he returned to heaven, the apostles were killed and people became confused about what he had actually taught. In the 1800's God chose another prophet to teach his people. At first Joseph Smith just preached God's truth to people. Then as more people believed, he was directed to organize a church -- The Church of Jesus Christ. With an organized church, God's disciples were able to work together to send missionaries to all the world, build temples as we are commanded in the Bible, and to love and care for each other.
