Hi I'm Michelle

I am a mom, a wife, an online advocate of family fun and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I’m a mother of 2. A wife. I love the outdoors. Laundry is not my friend. I am always up for a good game or laugh. Started a website to promote inexpensive family fun activities. And I am a Mormon. I believe that life is an adventure, something for us to enjoy! There are so many things that I could worry about in the world today….employment, budgets, health, etc. Instead, I have been working on focusing on what I do have vs. what I do not have. And one thing I have is my family. To enjoy my family is an amazing blessing and when I focus on it, everything seems easier. Some of our favorite family adventures are cooking/baking together, art projects, going on hikes & playing games together. I have witnessed the benefits of play and spending time with one’s family. My house is NOT the cleanest (I do attempt at cleaning it. Not sure if I am really bad at it or if my kids are really good and messing it up or a little of both), it is not decorated very cute, we don’t have the latest electronic gadgets and gizmos, we only have one car that we share between us, but I know that if I take the time now to engage with my children, I am doing the most important thing I can right now. Because I believe, that after years have gone by, the time you have spent playing with your family will be one of the things you will never regret. My kids aren’t going to remember my sparkling clean house and designer décor, but the will remember the time we spent together and some of the things we did.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon simply because it is who I am. The Mormon Church's beliefs and my beliefs match. I have read the Book of Mormon, I have prayed about it and I have received confirmation through those prayers that this is where I am supposed to be. I am happiest when I attend church, read my scriptures, have personal prayers, serve others and attend the Temple. Life feels a little more complete by doing these things. No matter what trials are thrown at me I know that it is my faith in a loving Heavenly Father and Savior that will get me through it and these things help strengthen my faith on a daily basis. Yes, trials may be tough, but I know I am not alone.

How I live my faith

I try to live by example. I'm not great with words, but I know my actions speak louder than anything I could every say. I teach my children the same way. I don't just tell them what we need to do but show them, too. We are all still a work in progress moving in a good direction. One of my favorite favorite Christ like attributes to teach my children is the importance of caring for and serving others. We don't have much to give financially, but we love to bake together and we always seem to have all the ingredients to make a mean pizza on hand! Pizzas are the quickest and easiest to make when we need a quick something to help out. We have been able to take goodies and meals to many friends and neighbors. Nothing makes your own worries go away when you are focusing on others. Some of our closest friends are the ones we have met from a "goodie drop". I also play the piano for the 4 -12 year olds during Singing Time at church. I learn more from their strong spirits during that short period of time each Sunday. I love to hear all those sweet voices singing. Nothing makes my day better!
