Hi I'm Chris

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

There are so many words I would use describe myself or the roles I perform- such as bring a husband, dad, worker, student etc... But most of all I would describe myself as being happy. Spending time with my wife and son brings me the most happiness I could ever desire. We enjoy reading, eating, and watching fun movies together. Personally I have been a student much of my career years studying history and peace and justice. I am currently completing a Masters degree and am looking forward to getting into the classroom, both as a PhD student and teacher. Consequently, reading and writing are some of my biggest passions.

Why I am a Mormon

There are so many reasons why I am a Mormon, such as my brave grandmother who was the first in our family to accept the message of the missionaries many years ago, or that during my teen years I decided that the Church was the best and safest place or my, or that my friends encouraged me to serve a mission. I suppose foremost I am a Mormon because I know the Church is true and it is where Jesus Christ wants me to be.

How I live my faith

Being somewhat studious one of the main ways I live the gospel is by reading and studying the scriptures every day. I find that the words of God have made a profound difference in how I treat situations I am faced with at work and at home. The Book of Mormon gives me the daily guidance I need to stay on top of life's challenges. I always try to stay busy serving whenever I see the opportunity and relish the chances I have to teach and help others.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Chris
Yes- after his Resurrection and appearance to the Apostles and others in Palestine he appeared in the Americas and taught the same message of love and the Gospel as he had during his mortal ministry. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Chris
The Word of Wisdom is also known as the Lord's Law of Health. It is a commandment given to us to help us know what we should and should not take into our bodies if we want the blessings of our Heavenly Father. Things the Lord has asked us not to take into our bodies include alcohol, drugs that are not medically prescribed, and hot drinks such as tea and coffee. Things the Lord has asked for us to take into our bodies include fruits, vegetables, grains, and also that we should eat meat wisely and sparingly. If we do this we can enjoy the blessings of full life and maintain control of our bodies by being free from addictions. Show more Show less
