Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to wonderful husband and have two children. I work with children at 2 of our local elementary schools. Our family loves to camp, play games together, and raise our sulcata tortoises. I am currently working on obtaining my speech and language pathology assistant degree in college.

Why I am a Mormon

One day 2 young men came to my door. They were missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I wasn't sure I really wanted them to visit me, but I knew that God would always lead me the right way. I listened to what they taught, asked questions, and compared it with what I knew already about Jesus Christ. After several weeks, I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true. Heavenly Father answered my prayer with a strong peace and joy in my heart. I physically felt that it was true. I know that God loves us and knows each of us personally. I know that Jesus Christ came and suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane, and then died on the cross at Calvary so that we could be forgiven and return to live with Heavenly Father again. I know that we can be with our families, those who are so precious to us, forever. I know that prayers are listened to and answered.

How I live my faith

I love to serve in callings in the church. I have worked with family history, the young women ages 12-18, and now in nursery. I try to read my scriptures every day and pray to stay close to my Heavenly Father. Outside of the church and in my community I volunteer at the local schools on my days off. I believe that children are the most precious gift that our Heavenly Father has given us.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Melissa
Yes, we can be together forver. Our Heavenly Father loves us and He gave us families here on earth to learn to love others. If we follow Christ and live righteously we can be sealed to our families through the priesthood and we will be able to have them as our family forever. Show more Show less
