Hi I'm Reed

I am just a guy looking to live a happy life. The key to my happiness? I've let Jesus into my life; I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young adult man trying to live the standards of a christian life in a world that is increasingly forgetting their faith in God, our Creator and Eternal Father. I am a college student, but have put my studies on hold for two years to serve as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I am loving the opportunity to help others come to know Him better. I am a self-proclaimed nerd who loves to figure out how things work, and fix things that are broken. This includes, but is not limited to, computers, cars, and hearts. I also have a deep love for music and love to sing. I am also trying to improve my ability to play the piano (which is currently fairly weak). Music has often helped me feel closer to God and I have seen it touch the hearts of many people that I have taught as a missionary. I am grateful for the teachings of Jesus Christ and of the living Prophet that help me find balance and happiness in my life midst such trials and challenges as this life brings. They help me prioritize my time as I better understand my purpose here on the Earth, and what is to come after my time here ends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family, so I grew up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. However, as I grew up I made my own decision to follow Jesus' example in my life. As I grew up in the Church I learned how to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ; how to follow His teachings. As I lived them I learned to love them. I have learned that they truly bless my life and bring true happiness. Some might ask then what is different from being a Mormon and being a member of another church. If you truly want to know talk to our missionaries and read the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. They will explain. And then you can do what I did, pray and ask God if it is true. That is the most important thing anyone who is seeking to follow God in their own life can do: ask God for help and guidance. I know that if you pray and ask Him He will answer your prayers, because he answered mine.

How I live my faith

I am currently living my faith by serving as a missionary, as mentioned above. I strive to be patient, understanding, charitable, and give service to my 'neighbors'. For any who need an uplifting word of kindness or some other help in their life, I want to be available to them at all times and all places. I live my faith praying everyday, often many times, to know the will of my God and Father so that I might know how to better follow the example of His Son and live the standards I have mentioned. I pray to have these opportunities of service so that others might come to feel His love through my service and learn how they might also feel it in their own life as I do. Also, I strive to study and apply the scriptures in my own life. I prayerfully read them everyday searching for spiritual strength and guidance so that I can know how to best get through the difficulties of life. Through this study I have come to love them and have seen how they God´s word can guide us through life´s toughest challenges.
