Hi I'm Ricardo

I grew up in Mexico City. Migrated to Australia 23 years ago. I run my own Web Technology Business. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been involved with computers and systems for the last 35 years. For the last 20 years I've been involved with software for the Construction Industry and now I run my own Web Development business. I'm married and have 4 children and 3 grandchildren. I was involved with Scouting for 10 years and obtained my wood badge as a leader. I like to sing as bass in choirs and do exercise early in the mornings. I enjoy light classic music as well as 1970-1990 music. I enjoy eating any type of food and like to experiment tasting new dishes. I like to read about Astronomy, Biology, Physics, Human Behaviour and try to understand more about the environment which God has provided for us.

Why I am a Mormon

A friend of mine invited my wife and I to the 'Open House' (tours before the dedication of the temple) of the mormon temple in Mexico. I was impressed with the concepts explained to us related to the Purpose of Life and the Restoration of the Gospel. We invited the missionaries to come to our place and they taught us more about the Restoration of the Gospel and about our Eternal Nature. We joined the Church and since then we've been studying the scriptures and being very active in the Church. I have a special love for the Book of Mormon and I see it as a real complement to the Bible. It teaches and explains so many important things that cannot be found in that detail anywhere else. It explains very clearly the purpose of the Atonement of Christ, Agency, Faith, Faith in Christ, Charity, Obedience, Forgiveness and so on ( I have a list of over 30 concepts). To me, just to know that the Priesthood (the Authority of God given to man) and that the gifts of prophecy and revelation among others have been restored in these latter days, and that we have prophets, is enough to know that I am in the Church lead by Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I see all people as children of our Heavenly Father and as such we have to help and love each other. I like to help people to achieve their goals. Most of my life as member of the Church I've been in leadership and other administrative positions where I have seen so many lives touched and changed for the better. While I was studying a diploma,18 years ago, I was a Sunday School teacher in a 10 year-old children class. We had a lot of fun during the classes and also we organised quarterly activities where we watched a movie or went to an amusement park. I was able to develop such a nice relationship with them that now when my students are most of them married or about to get married we see each other with great appreciation as members of a big family. I like to participate in Service Projects organised by the Church within the community. It makes you feel good when you know that you have done something to improve the environment of others.
