Hi I'm Julie

I'm a Mormon. I am a regular person living a regular life.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Arizona where I was the fifth of nine children. I have since lived in five other states. I have a wonderful husband and four great children. I love swimming, running, hiking, camping and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are members of the church and I have always had a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was baptized at the age of 8, but my testimony did not stop growing there. I still strive to understand more and be a better person.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be an example of Jesus Christ. I bring my family to church each Sunday to partake of the sacrament and to learn more about Jesus Christ. In the church I work with the youth. The young women (girls 12-18) have a wonderful program to teach them how to be better citizens, family members, students of the gospel and future mothers. It is amazing to watch these girls turn into women the 6 years they are in the program.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Everything we have belongs to God, we are only asked to give back 10%. We are blessed for our sacrifices and everyone benefits from it. There were times in my college days where I had very little but every time I paid my tithing I always had enough. On more than one ocassion I recieved money in the mail usually just enough to get to the next pay day. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was the first prophet in this dispensation. We have love, respect and admiration for him (just like any other prophet) but we do not worship him. Show more Show less

Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

Because it was a commandment from God. Why did we stop, because it was a commandment of God. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

With my whole heart. Every time I hear President Monson speak I know that he is called of God. It is hard to explain the burning feeling of love and respect I feel for him. When President Hinckley passed away I was sad, but I knew that President Monson would do exactly what Heavenly Father wanted him to say and do. Show more Show less
